Director's Message
''The Renaissance Academy', Tilhar is a co-educational English Medium school, offering classes from Pre-Nursery to 12th affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. We foster academic excellence in a progressive school environment, which is safe and caring. Every minute of the child spent in the school has a bearing on his personality and character. No effort is being spared in making children, who would not only strengthen the fabric of democratic society but galvanize the whole process of development and take the country to newer heights.
The nascent Renaissance Academy of 2006 has started growing and what a pleasure it is to see it grow year by year, wearing new leaves each spring and spreading its scent far and wide a sign of good care and brilliant governance for which the teachers, the Principal and the Management have earned a pat on the back-a sincere, real shabash.
Today after forty- five years in the teaching profession I know for sure that my association with teaching began not with class-room work, but with sentiments of admiration, astonishment and conflict (conflict with those who managed me and worked with me).I was literally shaken by the nature of life in the school and in the course of the time it produced a fundamental change (in the real sense of the term) within me. I was continually surprised at the spiritual purity, kindness and openness of children, their mothers, fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers. I closely associate with my life’s achievements and its failures with my fate as a teacher, which I can now finally say, was a happy one. Yuri Azarov, the renowned Russian educationist once wrote: To be a teacher is to be a member of special profession. The future make up of a new generation of a country’s citizens depends on the teacher’s cultural, professional and general standard. Develop a passion for success and to stick your neck out because opportunities seldom knock.
The other day I heard about the farewell function in honors of the twelfths leaving the school. This gave me a rise to the idea to think about why school education is so important. I remembered my school years, the grounding years of anyone’s education. I went down memory lane. I remembered my teachers, my school subjects, the study and the fun. I never really hated the school. But I have seen many who hate going to school. I have had some friends who did not like the idea of studying in class-rooms. Many of you must have unwillingly entered your school gates. But you know, this dislike never lasts long. We soon start loving school and it is when it’s time to leave school that we are in tears. Our school which lays the foundation of our education is the institution where we understand why education is so important and how important it is! It is our school where we learn to read and write and we become literate. It is where young talent is recognized, nurtured and encouraged. On leaving school we are all set to soar high in life and enter the real world in pursuit of our dreams.
School gives us the fundamentals while we specialize in fields of our interest during degree courses. But education does not end here. It is a lifelong process. Self-learning begins at a point where institutional education ends.
